This is the 101st year of the International Women’s Day celebration. It is observed every year in more than 100 countries.

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cuba , Guinea- Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
It is a holiday only for women in China, Nepal and Madagascar. It is a popular custom in many countries for men to give the women in their life, mother, wife, girlfriend or sister flowers or any small gifts to make them please and make them realize that they are important part of their life. In Romania International Women’s Day is observed just like Mother’s Day where children give small presents to their mothers and grand mothers. Yellow mimosas are given to women by men in Italy. The most common gifts on 8th March are the mimosas and chocolates even in Russia and Albania.
